The program consists of a class attended by parents who wish to have their child baptized, making them aware of their responsibilities to help their child grow in the Roman Catholic Faith.  Church law stipulates that one godparent, male or female, is sufficient, but there may be two.  Godparents should be 16 years of age and have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Communion and Confirmation, and should be good role models in living the Catholic life.  A baptized Christian other than Catholic may serve as a Christian witness provided he/she meets all other requirements and there is one Catholic godparent  Please contact Mrs. Kenna Baskerville at 815-634-4171 to schedule baptism preparation..
