Sacraments of Our Faith Sacraments are outward signs of inward grace, instituted by Christ for our sanctification. Sacraments are mysteries; they are signs of the sacred presence of our God we cannot see. They are more than mere signs, however. Sacraments actually give grace. For instance, Baptism is more than just a sign of union with Jesus; it actually washes away sins and gives the gift of the Holy Spirit.
SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING The sacrament of Anointing of the sick is celebrated on the first Saturday of the month during the 8:30 A.M. Mass and by appointment.
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM Baptisms are celebrated on the second and fourth Sundays of the month following the 10:30A.M. Mass. Parents must attend a Baptismal Preparation meeting prior to the Baptism. Sessions are held the third Tuesday of each month. Call the parish secretary to register.
SACRAMENT OF PENANCE Confessions are heard twenty minutes prior to Wednesday morning Mass and on Saturday evenings from 3:15PM to 3:45PM and on Sundays, approximately twenty minutes before each Mass. Confessions may also be arranged by appointment with the pastor.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE Marriage arrangements must be made at the rectory at least six months in advance of the wedding date. Please contact the parish office before making any other arrangements.
FUNERALS It is the responsibility of the parish to bury their dead. The funeral director will contact the rectory regarding funeral arrangements. Funeral liturgies are ordinarily celebrated at 9:30 A.M..
VISITS TO THE SICK If homebound please call the rectory. Due to changes in hospital admitting policies, it is necessary to inform the rectory when a parishioner is admitted to the hospital and would like a visit from Fr. Noesen. Weekly visits are made to the sick at Morris Hospital |
